Role Reversal

Last night was the opposite of the night before. Since we had been getting so little sleep, Tara and Sophie were concerned about Elisa’s well being. So at about 11 pm Sophie offered to help rock Eden to sleep. Elisa and I went to bed gratefully. Tara says that Eden went to sleep pretty quickly too. But then Tara and Sophie were worried that Eden might wake up and then wake us up too. So they decided to stay up and watch her sleep. They played cards together until midnight… then 1… then 2… then 3… then 4. At 4:30 Elisa and I got up to see where Eden was. Tara and Sophie were on the couch having breakfast. They were SO punch drunk. 😮

I’m sorry I haven’t gotten around to commenting yet – she really is a beautiful baby Elisa and I’m not just being nice. I can’t wait to come take pictures of her! You are great to be out on the town already! I’m glad you got a little sleep, hope you’re enjoying these precious moments.

That is so sweet! There is nothing like sleep when you’re a new mom. Nothing. One would kill for it.

Oh, and I remembered in a different book I read some ideas on getting days and nights back to where they should be – for nighttime feedings, keep the lights very, very low. And no TV. And don’t talk to your baby like you do when you feed her during the day. All of these things will eventually clue her in to the fact that This is night time. It’s sleeping time.
