No Longer “It”

Elisa’s doctor appointment went well on Tuesday. We got the news that we’re having a

girl!

The official due date is September 10. Everything looks healthy, except for the fact that she was totally hiding. It was really hard to get a good ultrasound. The ultrasound made a lot more sense to the doctor than to me, but I’m taking her word on it. I realized that afternoon that I just expected a boy. That’s just the way it works, isn’t it? 🙂 I was a little shocked and disappointed at first because of that expectation. I think that boys are usually easier to deal with, so we’re getting a hard one. I can’t imagine a better dad for a girl. I think a mom is really important in a girl’s life, but a father teaches a daughter the most important things. I’m really excited! Now we just have to pick a name.

We celebrated with some baby-girl-themed sugar cookies. Cream cheese frosting and strawberries really hit the spot.

What exciting news! Girls are easy as babies and toddlers at least… My daughter has been sooo much easier than my son. But I may be taking that statement back when she is a teenager!!

CONGRATS!! HA, I think I should win an office pool or something cause I CALLED IT! :o)

I’m with you on the hoping for a boy. I’m scared to death to have a girl. I know they are good babies but I’ve seen teenage girls and they are SCARY!! :o)

You guys will have and be so much fun. Congrats! Congrats! Congrats!

Congrats!!! Yes, I agree, little girls can be a handful, but they’re well worth the extra work. You guys will be fantastic parents!
It’s not on your list, but my name vote is for Carrie…Carrie Parry–has a nice ring, don’t you think? 🙂

I’m not a fan of the rhyming names. Sorry! I don’t think I want to do that to a kid. As Alec Baldwin said, “Why don’t you just beat him up before you send him to school?”

Congratulations! You will love having a little girl. I thought I wanted a boy first too but I am now SO glad that Kaydra is my oldest. She is so helpful with the other two and so much more mellow and not as physical. She really sets the “tone” in our house. For the record, my favorite is Hannah Elise though a very close second is Eden Marie. Congrats again!

Congratulations!!! I’m sure little princess will be adorable. You’ll have so much fun dressing her, seeing as there are so many cute clothes for girls out there. We’ll have to go shopping before I leave.

Congrats on the girl. I don’t know if you heard or not, but Rachel and I are also having a girl. And don’t worry Elise, I had the same reaction to having a girl. Some reason I was convinced it would be a boy, and it took me a few hours to get geared up for a girl.

I like the name Eden Marie, but also see the merit in those other names.

Congratulations! Girls are the best! I have two, so I should know. 🙂 Also, September 10th is my birthday so I’m rooting for her!
