I’ve never known the words to that song. Where do people pick up that kind of thing? Lots of people seemed to know how to sing it.
DeVotchKa gave a New Year’s Eve performance at the Show Box. Daniel gave tickets to everyone in the family. Those guys are super talented. Everyone played more than one instrument REALLY well. They had a real gypsy sound. I liked it a lot. Jeff and Lauren suggested earplugs before the show. That was a great idea because it was loud even with them in the whole time.
We took a cab in from Mercer Island. What a great idea! We came late so that we could have dinner at home and feed Eden before we left. That worked out great too, because the show didn’t start until after 10 pm. We all split off kind of funny at the end so that we could drive Daniel and Kim home. We got home at around 2:30. And just as we went upstairs, Eden woke up to eat again. Perfect timing!

Eden has been congested for a week now. We have gotten her familiar with the bulb for clearing out her nose. She hates it, of course. But Elisa manages to turn it into a game. Eden laughs to see the bulb dancing around in front of her face, then BAM! She still doesn’t like it. Elisa picked up a humidifier and some vapor medicine. Hopefully it helps soon.
We were worried because she hadn’t made a mess in her diaper since Christmas Eve. That’s not automatically a bad thing for a baby her age. She seemed like she was comfortable. We were a little concerned still. Finally on the 31st we got the awaited and anticipated mess. Straight to the bath she went! Chad had given her a bath just the evening before. It was amazing how much smaller her belly was after she got everything out. I couldn’t help but to be relieved and proud. It’s funny and a little bit weird how your perspective changes after you’ve had a baby.

It was great to have family here for Eden’s blessing. We had Grandpa Church and Nana Banana, Grandpa Parry and Omi. Eden’s Great Gramma Sophie was here too. Uncles Jeff and Jeff helped bless Eden, as well as my mom’s bishop…. Linda Osborne, Aunt Kim, Lauren, Jordyn, Sarah and Eden’s cousins Sophia and Jane came to see. Phew!Â
Nana Banana got a long white gown for Eden. We even put the bonnet on her. She looked pretty cute. Too bad she only wore it for 30 minues. 🙂
